Digital operational resilience

A financial entity's ability to prevent, withstand, respond to and recover from an ICT-related disruption.

Digital operational resilience refers to a financial entity's ability to maintain its critical functions in the face of ICT-related disruptions: cyberattacks, technical failures, provider failures, or natural disasters affecting a data centre.

This is DORA's ultimate goal: it's not just about protecting yourself, but also about being able to detect an incident quickly, respond to it, and resume normal operations within controlled timeframes.
