RTS / ITS
Regulatory and implementing technical standards that specify how DORA's requirements are applied in practice.
RTS (Regulatory Technical Standards) and ITS (Implementing Technical Standards) are technical standards drawn up by the European Supervisory Authorities (EBA, ESMA, EIOPA) to specify exactly how to apply DORA's general requirements in practice: the content of the register of information, incident classification criteria, penetration testing methodology, the content of contracts with ICT providers, and so on.
Much of this standardisation was published in 2024, completing DORA's text ahead of its full application on 17 January 2025.
